‘The Flash’ Starring Ezra Miller Receives Release Date in China

The real foe of The Flash is censorship!

Due to the movie’s lead, Ezra Miller, The Flash has been engulfed in controversy for the past year. Despite Miller’s difficulties, it appears that the movie is moving quickly through China’s restrictions to obtain a release date.

Because of restrictions imposed by the Chinese government, Hollywood blockbusters have been largely absent from Chinese theaters in recent years. However, it appears as though these limits are beginning to be relaxed since tensions between the two nations are easing and Avatar: The Way of the Water is topping China’s box office. The Flash, which made its world premiere on June 16, secured China as yet another place to watch the movie, making it the most recent example of a movie to break the embargo.

Given the controversy surrounding the movie’s actor over the past year, many people are surprised by this action. Despite reports that Ezra Miller is making good progress toward treatment, many fans are uncomfortable watching the film in light of their behavior. Given these domestic controversies, it’s feasible that a Chinese release may boost the movie’s box office performance. Only time will tell, though, if Miller’s online detractors will result in a decline in ticket sales.

The Flash is based on the Flashpoint comic book story, which followed Barry Allen as he traveled across a redesigned DC Universe. It was directed by Andy Muschietti, with a screenplay by Christina Hodson. Geoff Johns and Andy Kuber’s Flashpoint fundamentally upended the DC Comics universe’s established order and laid the groundwork for the launch of the New 52 series.

The Flash also features Ezra Miller, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Maribel Verd as Nora Allen, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Antje Traue as Faora-Ul, and Sasha Calle as Supergirl in addition to Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck as two distinct iterations of Batman. Additionally playing unspecified parts are Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Rudy Mancuso, and Luke Brandon Field.
